He added that he elected to ease his mount behind Windy Wheels to gain cover, however his mount commenced to over race, so he elected to shift to that geldings inside. Leigh Taylor agreed with Stewards in hindsight, he should have maintained his position behind Windy Wheels and not shift into the tight run between that horse and Mr Broadway. Supplementary Report
Troy Kilgower - Balnarring
Following a stable inspection and audit carried out by the Compliance and Assurance Stewards on 24th of March 2025, Stewards today concluded their inquiries into stable returns submitted by licenced trainer Troy Kilgower. Mr Kilgower was fined $300 under AR 296(2) in that he failed to lodge accurate stable returns for several horses under his care. The horses had stable returns either not lodged or recorded inaccurately, not reflecting their true location and status.
In assessing penalty, Stewards took into consideration his good record in that this was his first offence under this rule and his explanation surrounding the circumstances of the error.

Race 3 - MATTHEW O'BRIEN MEMORIAL HANDICAP - 1650 metres:
Prior to correct weight, after viewing the Stewards' patrol footage, rider Sophie Clayfield (Midivani, 3rd placegetter) lodged an objection against Some Eclipse (Tracey Johnson) being declared 2nd placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 100m. After taking evidence from all parties, it was established that near the 100m Midivani shifted in and away from Some Eclipse which shifted in when laying in before being straightened by its rider. Furthermore, near the 50m Midivani was taken in before being steadied to avoid the heels of Some Eclipse which shifted in. As Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference suffered by Midivani was greater than the margin of a length and a half between the two horses at the finish, the objection was dismissed and correct weight was declared.
Some Eclipse Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight. When questioned regarding her riding over the concluding stages and in particular whether she fully rode her mount out to the end of the race, rider Tracey Johnson stated that her mount laid in under pressure in the straight and shifted in over the final 100m. T. Johnson added that after causing interference to Midivani near the 50m, she looked to her inside and was mindful that Midivani was racing to her inside and that if she were to continue to place her mount under full pressure, she would have caused further interference to that runner. T. Johnson added for this reason she elected to stop riding and attempt to straighten her mount and therefore did not place her mount under full pressure over the final two strides. Stewards accepted T. Johnson's explanation and were of the opinion that her actions did not have an effect on the final placings.
Bingoesbang Slow to begin.

Johnson), which shifted in before being straightened by its rider. Rider Tracey Johnson was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR 131(a) and advised to exercise greater care.
Midivani Near the 100m shifted in and away from Some Eclipse which shifted in when laying in. Near the 50m was taken in before being steadied to avoid the heels of Some Eclipse (T. Johnson), which shifted in when not sufficiently clear.
Rider Tracey Johnson (Some Eclipse) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR 131(a), in that near the 50m, she permitted her mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of Midivani which was taken in before being steadied to avoid her mounts heels. Tracey Johnson had her licence to ride in races suspended for 1 race meeting, with the period to commence on Sunday 23 March 2025 and expire on Saturday 29 March 2025. Accordingly, Tracey Johnson will be able to ride on Sunday 30 March 2025. In assessing penalty, account was taken of her guilty plea, record and that the incident was in the low range.

Race 3 THE FLOORWAY TRADING TROPHY RACE (1) HANDICAP - 1650 metres:
Pine Valley Began awkwardly making contact with Sacra. Rider S Cooper reported that from the 600m the gelding failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure and raced very dour. He added that although it appeared to finish the race off well, he was of the opinion that the leaders weakening was the reason for this. Trainer D Dwyer reported that he would look to remove the visors from the geldings gear and place it in races over more ground for future starts.
Sacra Bumped on jumping away by Pine Valley. Commenced a run three wide from the 700m. Rider M McDonald reported that the mare hit a flat spot near the 250m and failed to finish off as expected.
Ahtohallan Began awkwardly.
Tofik Tok Passing the winning post on the first occasion laid outwards.
Joyas Raced keenly in the early stages and passing the winning post on the first occasion was taken wider by Tofik Tok which laid outwards.
Rider Grant Seccombe (Miss Neyland) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip eight times prior to the 100m which is three more than permitted. G Seccombe had his permit to ride in races suspended for a total of 1 picnic race meeting, with the period to commence on Sunday 15 December 2024 and expire on Saturday 21 December 2024. Accordingly, G Seccombe will be able to return to ride on Sunday 22 December 2024. Space Cowboy Restrained in the early stages from the wide gate and settle towards the rear of the field. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted rider M McDonald reported she had been instructed to settled further back with cover from the wide gate. Trainer G Cluning confirmed the nature of the instructions stating that when it led last start it had drawn an inside gate as opposed to the wide draw today. He added he did not think it would settle as far back as it did today. Stewards advised G Cluning that in future he must ensure he notifies Stewards of any similar changes of tactics for his runners.
Tabloid Star Raced wide for the majority of the event.
Spirit Maker Laid outwards under pressure in the straight. Rider S Cooper reported he would have preferred to cross to the fence when leading through the middle stages however Star of Mattner had maintained a position to his inside and for this reason, he was unable to cross. Stewards questioned S Cooper regarding his use of the whip particularly passing the 100m where it appeared his whip may have come into contact with the mare forward of the shoulder. S Cooper reported he had not intended to have his whip that far forward however he felt his whip was momentarily caught in the off side rein and this may have resulted in the whip making contact with the side of his mounts head. Stewards noting the lack of force in the contact took no further action however advised S Cooper that a warning would be placed on his record and reminded him to take greater care in similar circumstances.
Star of Mattner Rider T Barton reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages and for this reason he was unable to restrain and gain cover from the race leader Spirit Maker through the middle stages which he would have preferred.
Rider Tracey Johnson (Taboid Star) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip nine times prior to the 100m which is four more than permitted. T Johnson had her permit to ride in races suspended for a total of 1 picnic race meeting, with the period to commence on Sunday 15 December 2024 and expire on Saturday 21 December 2024. Accordingly, T Johnson will be able to return to ride on Sunday 22 December 2024. Further T Johnson was fined the sum of $100. Summerhill Slow to begin.
Unique Bambino Raced keenly in the early stages.
Wunambal Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Shifted wider near the 500m. When questioned as to the reason for her shifting ground at this stage, Rider C King reported that she was of the opinion that Marco Spada which was to her inside was close to heels and in the process of shifting her outwards. Stewards advised C King that at that stage she had most certainly erred in permitting her mount to shift out and not maintain a three wide position. Whilst they noted her comments about her safety concerns towards the runner to her inside, Stewards reminded her that she must ensure that she rides competitively at all times and not leave her riding open to criticism or query in future. Stewards will further speak with the Picnic Riding Coach should further tutelage be required and noted her comments should they be required any further following a review of the betting figures.
Lika Mosh Near the 200m came together with Marco Spada when both shifted ground and as a result both runners bumped on several occasions becoming unbalanced.

Healesville 23 November 2024 - Race 6 The Hewitt Open Trophy Race Handicap - 1650 metres:
Stewards today concluded an inquiry into the reasons for rider Ray Douglas being dislodged from Popeye The Sailor approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Stewards took evidence from all riders in the race on the day except Ray Douglas who was transported to hospital. Having interviewed Ray Douglas on 10 December 2024, it was established that approaching the winning post on the first occasion Popeye The Sailor commenced to over race and this together with the pace of the race slackening slightly, placed the gelding close to heels of the leading pair Couldbefamous and Portobello Road. Shortly afterwards Popeye The Sailor clipped heels and blundered dislodging Ray Douglas. Stewards did not believe the incident was a result of the careless actions of any rider and therefore reported it as a racing incident.
