Race 1 BALNARRING & DISTRICT BENDIGO BANK MAIDEN PLATE - 1050 metres:
Dee Jay Cee laid out approaching and rounding the home turn.
Chevosa held up when unable to obtain a clear run from the 400m until the 250 m before gaining a tight run in between Ruski and Gem Edition.
Ruski began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event. Rider J. Sanders could offer no explanation for the mares poor performance when it failed to respond to his riding. A post - race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Gem Edition approaching 800 m steadied from the heel of Dee Jay Cee (R. Douglas ). Rider R. Douglas was advised to show greater care when in similar circumstances and was severely reprimanded.
Minnas Girl raced wide in the early stages.
 
Race 2 RED HILL FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB OPEN TROPHY RACE - 1050 metres:
Go One Better raced wide throughout the event.
Hawksmoor began awkwardly. Rider L. Taylor reported after beginning awkwardly, settled further back then expected and he added that Hawksmoor laid in during the event and was disappointing.
Swizzle Sticks began awkwardly shifted out and bumped with Orakai. Rider G Seccombe could offer no explanations for the mares poor performance other than it failed to respond the his riding. A post - race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Bouffons held up when unable to obtain a clear run from the 300 m until passing the 200 m.
Riohsei began awkwardly.
Orakai bumped at the start.
 
Race 3 OASIS ON NAUTILUS TROPHY RACE(3) - 1200 metres:
Mycharliegirl slow to begin.
Smokin Hard slow in to stride than shortly after bumped by Viking Myth.
Im A Buonarroti raced wide without cover throughout. Rider D. Waymouth reported that the gelding raced fresh and Im A Buonarroti will benefit from todays run. A post - race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Viking Myth began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with Smokin Hard. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4 MELBOURNE EQUINE VETERINARY GROUP MAIDEN PLATE - 2000 metres:
Embrace The Force held up when unable to obtain a clear run from the 600 m until the 300 m.
Lost In Time raced keenly in the lead, when racing keenly got its head up on number of occasions.
Golden Pearl raced wide throughout the event.
Victory Stride shortly after the star rider J. Sanders dropped his whip.
 
Race 5 VERMONT LIONS CLUB OPEN TROPHY RACE - 2000 metres:
Kalalo over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of Doctor Timor.
Go Ferrando raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Referee (NZ) slow to begin.
Blinky Oreilly raced wide with out cover throughout. Rider M. Morris reported that the gelding raced flat and may have come to the end of its preparations. A post - race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Doctor Timor approaching the 1200 m when the pace slackened the gelding commenced to over race and had to be steadied from the heels of Kalalo.
 
Race 6 WESTERNPORT SAND & SOIL TROPHY RACE(1) - 1600 metres:
I Fought The Law slow to begin.
At Large slow to begin. Near the 400 m momentarily became unbalanced when tighten for a room inside of I Fought The Law.
Chillydog slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Johnny Romance near the 250 m gained a tight run inside of Billio where there was insufficient room to do so, rider T. Grace was showed footage of this incident and was advised to exercise greater care when in similar circumstances
Sebring Star raced wide without cover throughout.
Laststrikeyourout rider M. Morris could offer no explanation other than the filly my have come to the end of its preparation.

On arrival, Stewards inspected the track and noted an area of concern near the 1500 metres. Remedial works were undertaken, and an inspection was then conducted with riders, whereafter it was agreed that the meeting would commence with a view to monitor the conditions throughout the day. Further, the track surface was aerated prior to the commencement of the meeting.
Race 1 Willaton, bissett families, bill wyndham re madien plate - 1000 metres:
Chevosa Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival after running at Healesville on 27 March 2021 and was passed fit to start.
Urgent Raced wide without cover throughout.
Timely Manner Raced keenly in the early stages, then commenced to lay out from the 700 metres.
Race 2 oti racing, tac buchan plate open trophy hcp - 1000 metres:
Keep The Magic Late scratching by order of Stewards at 9.52am due to transport difficulties.
Spun Dice Slow into stride. Rider L Taylor reported that the mare did not handle todays track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Go One Better Made the turn near the 600 metres awkwardly when laying out.
Race 3 salon classique, nowa nowa store, le riviera country cp trophy race (2) - 1800 metres:
Rendezvous Creek Commenced to give ground from the 700 metres and was eased down from the 200 metres. Rider L Taylor reported that the mare failed to travel throughout and did not handle todays track conditions, and he further added that Rendezvous Creek may not run out the distance of todays event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 4 buchan station, buchan caves, buchan pub, buchan cup - 1800 metres:
Tycoon Felix $1.65 unplaced favourite. Rider C King could offer no explanation for the geldings poor performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Delightful Forever Laid out rounding the home turn.
All Brown When racing keenly near the 1500 metres was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of Johnny Romance.
Rider Joanne Geddes pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR 132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars of the charge being that she used her whip on nine occasions prior to the 100 metre mark, which is four more than permitted. Joanne Geddes license to ride in picnic races was suspended for a period of two race meetings, commencing midnight 28 March 2021 and expiring midnight 4 April 2021. Further, she was fined the sum of $100. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account her guilty plea, her record in relation to whip breaches and the totality of her whip use.
On pulling up for the event, rider Belinda Wright was dislodged from Abington Threat, who then galloped riderless before eventually being recaptured near the mounting yard. Belinda Wright was attended to by the on course doctor, who reported that she had sustained an injury to her right ankle. Belinda Wright was transported to hospital for further assessment.
Race 5 bairnsdale sporting convention centre, lakes apartements trophy race (1) - 1200 metres:
The start of the race was delayed by approximately ten minutes to allow for the oncourse doctor and medics to attend to Belinda Wright.
Lage (NZ) Underwent a veterinary examination on arrival after running at Healesville on 27 March 2021 and was passed fit to start.
Bon Torr Morr Raced wide without cover.
Cost Dave A Penny Began awkwardly.
Cool Hand Rider L Taylor reported that the gelding did not handle todays track conditions. A post race veterinary examination revealed that Cool Hand was lame in the near foreleg, and had abrasions to the inside of both hind legs. Trainer T. Kilgower was advised a veterinary certificate will be required prior to Cool Hand racing again.
Race 6 buchan original settlers, the stockmans camp open trophy race - 1200 metres:
The start of the race was delayed by approximately five minutes.
Hurricane Jack Late scratching by order of Stewards at 9.52am due to transport difficulties.

Dee Jay Cee As no other rider was available, Stewards permitted Rider R. Douglas to ride 0.5kg over his declared weight, as such Rider R. Douglas was reprimanded. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Rider R. Douglas reported that the gelding felt amiss and failed to respond to his riding from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Shotchu Raced four wide without cover for the majority of the event.
Luvme Or Leevme Slow to begin (3L) and was then failed to muster early speed despite the efforts of its rider. Trainer J. Gilligan was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding. Rider L Taylor reported that the gelding did not appreciate todays soft track conditions.
Moss And Me Near the 700 metres had to be eased when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Little Red Rooster.
Squibbly Dibbly Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
Race 3 the matthew obrien memorial open trophy race handicap - 1000 metres:
I Love Champagne Difficult to load. Raced three wide without cover. Performed below market expectations. Rider S. Cooper could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer D. Dwyer was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again.
Laurentian Began awkwardly.
Shanghai Rooster 12 year old underwent a pre-race veterinary examination upon arrival on course and was passed suitable to race.
Warrigal Mac Rider J. Virgona was questioned in regard to his riding of the gelding during the middle stages of the event. He stated that after obtaining cover, the gelding was reluctant to travel through the middle stages and in his opinion did not appreciate the track conditions. However, near the 400 metres he commenced to place the gelding under pressure to which it responded well and worked to the line fairly. J. Virgona added that in hindsight he should have placed the gelding under pressure near the 600 metres to enable him to maintain contact with the runners in which he was following. Stewards agreed with J. Virgonas assessment and noted his comments.
 
Race 4 the malcolm lugg memorial golden thong - 2350 metres:
Sassoon Near the 500 metres raced in restricted room between Royal Request and Gun Bolt and as a result had to be eased. Approaching the 200 metres had to be steadied and shift out when tightened for room between Yorkshire Lass (NZ) and Gun Bolt (S. Cooper) which shifted in. S. Cooper was reprimanded and reminded of his obligations to ensure that he is clear of other runners when shifting ground in future.
Royal Request Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 400 metres to the 300 metres and again for a short distance near the 200 metres.
Snake Cavern Began awkwardly.
Yorkshire Rock Raced wide without cover in the middle stages.
Dynamic Moss Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. Rider C. King was severely reprimanded for using her whip when out of contention.
Undergroundfighter Raced at Kilmore on Thursday 25th March 2021, in a Class 1 2000m, finished 9th of 10, carried 54kg, beaten 16.65L. Underwent a pre-veterinary examination upon arrival on course and passed suitable to race. Rider T. Johnson was severely reprimanded for using her whip when out of contention.
Rider T. Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars being that she used her whip on 11 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is six more than permitted. T. Johnson had her licence to ride in picnic races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 27 March 2021 and to conclude midnight 4 April 2021, a total of three picnic race meetings. T. Johnson was also fined a sum of $200. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account her guilty plea, her record, the totality of her whip use. Stewards further ordered that T. Johnson be referred to the Rider Skills Panel for tuition and consultation regarding her poor record in relation to this rule.

Lake Tanganyika – Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Trainer Jack Laing, who advised that he had attempted to scratch the mare via the trainers portal with Racing Australia on March 19th and that it was not his intention to start the mare. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of Lake Tanganyika at 1.46pm.   Stewards adjourned the inquiry to obtain further information on this occasion.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.

I Fought The Law – Difficult to load. Trainer A Goble was notified the mare is now suspended from racing until such time as it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.   Passing the 600m raced in restricted room to the inside of Molly Dook (M Morris) and was steadied.  M Morris was notified to exercise far greater care in similar circumstances.
Blinky O’Reilly – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide throughout.
Derek The Viking – Passing the 1400m was checked when placed in restricted room between I Fought The Law and Molly Dook which shifted in and away from Tribbiani.  Due to inconclusive evidence and lack of patrol footage, Stewards took no direct action other than the remind all riders to exercise care in future.  Raced four wide for the majority of the event.
Molly Dook – Passing the 1400m raced in restricted room between I Fought The Law and Tribbiani. Held up for clear running form the 400m to the 200m.
Normandy Lad – Rider L Taylor was severely reprimanded for consecutive whip use prior to the 100m.
 
Race 6 – foodworks alexandra hcp - 1830 metres:
Herzl – Rider S Cooper explained that in his opinion the gelding was not suited to today’s racing surface.

I Love Champagne near 200m steadied from the heels of Sally Sells Shells (NZ)(Ms D Waymouth), which shifted in slightly when not clear. Ms Waymouth was severely reprimanded

Sally Sells Shells (NZ) Ms Debbie Waymouth was reminded to ride all her mounts out with sufficient vigour to the end of the race.
Race 3 THE BIG WAVE HANDICAP - 2308 metres:
Can Get A Witness raced wide without cover in the early stages until striding and settling outside the leader near 1300m. Rider Sean Cooper reported that he had to make use of the mare in the early stages and as a result did not finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Madam Stowell rider Ms D Waymouth could offer no explanation for the mares poor performance. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post-race veterinary examination. Madam Stowell shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.
Doctor Timor raced keenly in the early stages, near 1000m got its head up when being restrained from Madam Stowell
Race 4 GLPC MAIDEN - 1508 metres:
Embrace The Force Ran unplaced 11/3/21, underwent veterinary examination on arrival on course and passed suitable to race.
Lost In Time fractious in the float enroute to the course, underwent veterinary examination on arrival and was passed suitable to race. Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1300m shifted out when close to the heels Cheeky Prince, allowed to stride and take the lead near 1200m. Layed in under pressure in the straight.
Mid Strength fractious in the float enroute to the course, underwent veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Raced wide without cover from the 1000m.

Dhalia Kahina began awkwardly then tightened between Mid Strength and Lost In Time, which shifted in.
Lage (NZ) faltered near 250m.

Race 5 FRANK KLEPNER MEMORIAL CUP - 1708 metres:
Kalalo layed in when under pressure in the straight.
Derek The Viking when the pace slackened near 1200m Derek The Viking commenced over race, shifted out and allowed to stride to take the lead near 1000m.
Peak Hill (NZ) eased down over the concluding stages, rider L Taylor reported that the gelding made an unusual respiratory noise on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Shanghai Rooster 12 Year old, underwent veterinary examination and passed suitable to race. Wide without cover in the early stages.
Race 6 ALEX SCOTT & STAFF TROPHY - 1708 metres:
Marsoom when questioned, rider S Cooper reported that the gelding did not travel well throughout and lost contact with the field in the middle stages, he added that Marsoom did not respond to his riding and may not have appreciated the shifty track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Near 100m disappointed for a run when Johnny Romance was taken out by Grazie Millie when it shifted out when close to the heels of They Callmemalcom and as a result was not fully tested to the finish.
Change It Up Late scratching at 8.49am on veterinary advice after the gelding pulled a shoe and stepped on nail. Trainer Anne McCormick will forward a veterinary certificate.
Johnny Romance taken out by Grazie Mille near 100m
All Brown correct weight delayed as rider L Taylor(2nd placegetter) requested to view photo finish before agreeing with the Judges placing.
Grazie Mille raced keenly in the early and middle stages, near 100m shifted out and away from the heels of They Callmemalcom, held up for a clear run over the concluding stages.
They Callmemalcom fractious in the float enroute to the course, underwent veterinary examination on arrival and passed suitable to race.
Coureuse Controls when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer R Manning explained at its previous start at Omeo the mare choked down when they expected it to run a good race. He added that they did not support the mare today but were satisfied with its preparation since Omeo.

Following the running of race 5 Dani Walker was taken to hospital for further assessment.
Race 1 GROSSOTTO POLL HEREFORD, KYVALLEY DAIRY GROUP & AGL MAIDEN PLARE - 1350 metres:
All Day Chardonnay Commenced awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the 300 meters until passing the 150 meters. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to show signs of colic. Trainer Brad Cole was advised the horse requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to next racing.
Epcot Laid out rounding the turn near the 950 meters.
Rendezvous Creek Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 2 ITS A GREALY GREAT! 0-58 HANDICAP - 1350 metres:
Bay of Faith Slow to begin.
Beaut Bopa Weakened from near the 400 meters. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the left foreleg. Trainer Clare Mansell was advised the horse requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to next racing.
 
Race 3 HAPPY VALLEY HOTEL TROPHY RACE(2) HANDICAP - 1350 metres:
Runaway Max Upon arrival on course Runaway Max underwent a veterinary examination after being fractious in the float. Acting on Veterinary advice, stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the horse at 1:20pm. Trainer Don Dwyer was advised the horse requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to next racing.
The Diggings - Near the 500 meter had to be steadied when bumped by Dynamic Moss (Dani Walker) which shifted in when laying in. Rider Dani Walker was severely reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift ground when not clear.
Bimmies Twin - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer Brenda Bamford was advised the horse requires a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to next racing.

Miss Redcoat Slow to begin.
Race 5 MILESTONE CHEMICALS DEDERANG CUP - 1650 metres:
Abington Threat Near the 1500 meters raced in restricted room between Riding High and Baby Cakes which shifted in marginally.
Go Ferrando Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in its barrier stall and was passed fit to start. Raced wide without cover for majority of the event.
Cryfowl Laid out round the home turn.
Coolamine Sustained a serious racing injury near the 500 meters and was humanely euthanized. This incident will be referred to the equine welfare and veterinary department.

Spun Dice Stood flat footed and lost ground (4L).
Warpedo - Rider Grant Seccombe was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out over the final stride of the event. In assessing penalty Stewards were of the view that his actions did not affect the placings.

Peranto (NZ) Began awkwardly and lost ground.
Damselflys Kept (NZ) Slow to begin.
Moski Raced three wide from the 600 metres.
Dallas Storm A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a laceration to its left hind cannon. Trainer Terry Walsh was advised that a veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

El Chaparro Laid in under pressure in the straight.
Im Peter Rider Dani Walker reported that the gelding pulled hard and failed to relax throughout the event.
Sunshine Jimmy Raced three wide without cover from the 1400 metres.
Randolph Rider Leigh Taylor reported that the gelding felt amiss. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding sustained an injury to the left front fetlock. Trainer Peter Foster was advised that a veterinary certificate will be required prior to racing again.

Stagecraft Eased down approaching the home turn. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post-race veterinary examination. As this is the third occasion Stagecraft is now ineligible to race in Australia.
Pommy Bird Raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 700 metres was checked and shifted out and away from the heels of Stagecraft which was giving ground quickly.

Race 1 KENNELLY, FAY, HALES, KANE, WATT, MOORE, 50TH YEAR MAIDEN - 1200 metres:
Dramadale Approaching the 800 metres became badly unbalanced and lost ground. Rider L Taylor reported that at this stage, he momentarily felt the mare may have gone amiss, however shortly after Dramadale regained its action and did not feel lame on pulling up. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have hit itself and sustained a minor laceration to the off front leg.

Race 2 THE DOC PATERSON TROPHY RACE (1) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:
Reward The Misses Rider G Seccombe reported that during the early and middle stages the gelding was reluctant to travel due to the kickback, and for this reason got further out of his ground than anticipated despite his urgings.
Zedess Rider D Walker reported that the gelding, which was eased down on straightening, did not appreciate the undulating course, and was not entirely comfortable in its breathing during the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. A veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to Zedess racing again.
The Diggings Raced wide without cover.
Cool Hand Near the 400 metres checked when tightened from room by Zedess, which after initially shifting in slightly when weakening, was carried in further by Little Red Rooster (J Geddes). In the circumstances J Geddes was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.
Race 3 ALPINE AIRWORK & RURAL HARDWARE SUPPLIES OPEN TROPHY RACE - 1200 metres:
Shanghai Rooster 12 year old. Examined on arrival by the veterinarian and passed fit to start.

Earthling A post race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the geldings left nostril.
Coolamine When racing keenly passing the 1800 metres got its head up when being steadied. Lay out rounding the home turn.
Hard To Kiss Inconvenienced shortly after the start by Crooked Hillary which began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.
Crooked Hillary Began awkwardly. Near the 1800 metres steadied to avoid the heels of Coureuse Controls which shifted out after being steadied from Earthling which was being restrained.
Coureuse Controls Rider C King reported that the mare may have choked down during the running of the event.
Race 5 TAC READY & EASTERN QUARRIED INC OPEN TROPHY RACE - 1600 metres:
Atomic Charge ($1.50 beaten favourite). Rider C King reported that after meeting with interference shortly after start, her mount failed to run on when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the inside of the mares off front cannon and off hind fetlock.

Royal Roulette Began awkwardly. Rider Tracey Johnson reported that in her opinion the gelding was not suited by the tight turning Alexandra circuit.

Mutapa Rider Ray Douglas reported that in his opinion the gelding was not suited by the quick back up from racing at Yea on 21/02/2021. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.

Molly Dook After being fractious in the barriers, reared and became cast. Was examined by the clubs veterinarian and deemed unfit to start. Withdrawn by order of the Stewards, acting on veterinary advice at 2:37pm. All monies invested on Molly Dook were ordered to be refunded and all successful bets with Bookmakers were ordered to be paid subject to the following deductions in the dollar, on the face value of the ticket: 1st Riohsei 18c win, 25c place; 2nd Normandy Lad 25c place. Subsequent to the event Rider Maddison Morris was treated by the RV medical staff for a right lower leg injury. Stable representative Reece Goodwin was advised that an official warning would be placed on the barrier manners of the mare.

Race 1 BEN MANSFIELDS 18TH CELEBRATION TROPHY RACE(2) - 1600 metres:
Allout Stropie Laid in under pressure in the home straight and approaching the 100 metres, shifted in abruptly resulting in its rider T Grace becoming unbalanced.
Caveman Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
Marsoom Rider T Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars being that she used her whip on 12 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is seven more than is permitted. T Johnson had her licence to ride in picnic races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 7 March 2021 (at the conclusion of the suspension incurred at Woolamai 20 February 2021) and to conclude midnight 14 March 2021, a total of two picnic race meetings. T Johnson was also fined a sum of $200. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account her guilty plea, her record, the totality of her whip use and the fact that she won the race. T Johnson was further severely reprimanded for failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race.

Fonteinbolt Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 1300 metres was continuously steadied to avoid the heels of Like You Look for several strides due to the slow early tempo.

Reward The Misses A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
At Large Slow to begin (2L). Approaching the 150 metres appeared to clip the heels of Reward The Missus, blundered and dislodged rider S Cooper. As Stewards could not be satisfied that the incident could be attributed to the carelessness of any one rider, no direct action was taken. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Sebring Star Began awkwardly and lost ground (3L).
Bimmies Twin Rider L Taylor reported that the mare hung out throughout the event. Dropped his whip near the 200 metres.

Hurricane Jack Slow to begin. Approaching the 500 metres was steadied when attempting a tight run to the inside of Kaphit. Rider L Taylor reported the geldings performance was disappointing and that after being slow to begin failed to travel throughout. He added that he suggested removing the crossover noseband from the geldings gear. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Race 1 WONTHAGGI CLUB MAIDEN - 1608 metres:
Buddy Perfect (NZ) Began awkwardly and lost ground.
The Mower Man Trainer M. Cid was severely reprimanded for the late notification of rider. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Dramadale Began awkwardly. Slipped near the 900 metres. Raced wide without cover from the thereafter.
Pommy Bird When racing keenly near the 1000 metres had to be steadied from the heels of Lage. Slipped near the 500 metres.
Following the running of the first race several riders expressed concerns with their mounts slipping during the event, following light drizzle after scratching time. A track inspection was conducted with Stewards and a number of riders engaged in the second race, where areas of concern were noted near the 1000 metres and passing the 600 metres. Subsequently a vote on the safe continuation of the meeting was conducted, and after considering the votes it was mutually agreed between Stewards and riders that the remainder of the meeting would proceed, with the track conditions to be monitored throughout the day.
 
Race 2 MAXX PROMOTIONS TROPHY - 1508 metres:
Mycharliegirl Raced wide without cover from 800m.
Crooked Hillary When the pace slackened near the 1100 metres, got its head up when being steadied from the heels of Cool Hand. Approaching the winning post was steadied when racing in restricted room and awkwardly placed between Atomic Charge and Mycharliegirl.
Chezza Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced keenly early and middle stages with its head up. Held up when unable to obtain clear running over the final 75m and went to the line without being fully tested.
All Brown Slow into stride, then hampered by Chezza which shifted out.
Atomic Charge Raced wide in the early stages was then allowed to stride and settle outside the leader from near 800m.
Cool Hand Began awkwardly.
Race 3 STEPH CASSIDY HAWAII FIVE-O BIRTHDAY MAIDEN - 1008 metres:
Dome Light Slow into stride.
Flying Meatball Raced wide without cover throughout.
High Expectations Near the 200 metres was inconvenienced when carried in by Dome Light (C.King) which shifted in when under pressure. Rider C.King was advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.
Miss Current Race wide without cover throughout. Rider G. Seccombe reported that the filly did not feel right in its action. A-post race veterinary examination reveal no obvious abnormality.
 
Race 4 YOJO FROZEN YOGHURT CLASSIC - 1008 metres:
Spinrich Rider T.Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars of the charge being that she used her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100 metre mark. T.Johnsons license to ride in races was suspended for a period of two picnic race meetings, commencing midnight 27 February 2021 and to expire midnight 7 March 2020. Further, T.Johnson was fined $100. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account her record in relation to whip breaches, the totality of her whip use and her guilty plea.
Evening Spirit Held up when unable to obtain clear running from the 400 metres until near the 250 metres, and then again from the 150 metres and as such went to the line without being fully tested.
Casino At Marino Bumped at the start.
Champenoise Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped Casino At MarinoHeld up when unable to obtain clear running from the 400 metres until passing the 200 metres.
Following the running of race four, the track was retrospectively upgraded to a Good 3 at 3.25PM.
Race 5 - THE DAVE CHOOKA HOWE TROPHY - 1008 metres:
Swanky Lady On route to the barriers became fractious, dislodged rider D. Walker before galloping riderless and crashing through the running rail near the 500 metres. Swanky Lady then re-entered the course proper before completing a number of laps of the course prior to being recaptured. Subsequently Stewards ordered the late scratching of Swanky Lady at 3.47pm and ordered the following deductions be made in respect to betting.
All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.
All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Rider D.Walker was examined by the doctor and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.

Warpedo Began awkwardly and shifted in, hampering Spun Dice.

As a result of the barriers being placed in the incorrect starting position, the start of the race was delayed by approximately five minutes while the barriers were moved.

Trainer C Weeding reported that the gelding may not have been suited to todays heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Bimmies Twin Began awkwardly and then shifted out abruptly. Hung out throughout placing its rider at a disadvantage. Trainer B Bamford was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.

In not taking any further action Stewards took into account her inexperience.
Legenda Rider R Douglas reported that the gelding raced keenly and was pressured in the lead midrace which was detrimental to its chances.

Rider G Seccombe pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars being that he used his whip on 12 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is seven more than permitted. G Seccombe had his license to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 26 January 2021 and to conclude midnight 6 February 2021 a total of two picnic race meetings. G Seccombe was also fined a sum of $100. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account his guilty plea, good record and the totality of his whip use. He was further severely reprimanded for his consecutive whip use.

Can Get A Witness Slow to begin. Approaching the 100 metres was steadied to avoid the heels of Diamond Geyser (T Grace) which shifted in. T Grace was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and advised to exercise far greater care in similar circumstances.
Diamond Geyser Rider T Grace pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars being that he used his whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100 metres which is five more than is permitted. T Grace had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight 23 January 2021 and to conclude midnight 30 January 2021, a total of two picnic race meetings. T Grace was also fined a sum of $100. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account his guilty plea, good recent record and the totality of his whip use.
 
Race 6 royal mail hotel trophy (3) handicap - 1600 metres:
Fromista Raced at Kilmore on 21 January, in a 1600 metre Benchmark 58, finished 5th beaten 2.45L.
Prior to the running of Race 1, Stewards were advised that Fromista had received Veterinary treatment on-course at the request of the stable, subsequent to its race at Kilmore Thursday 21/1/21. Acting on this advice, Stewards contacted Riccardo Meunier, trainer of Fromista, which was still engaged for todays race, regarding his obligations to present the mare to race free from prohibited substance and afforded him the opportunity to make application for the late withdrawal of the mare. Stewards acceded to a request from Mr Meunier to withdraw Fromista from todays event and withdrew the mare at 1.32pm.
Crooked Hillary Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Rider G Seccombe was fined $100 under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. In assessing penalty Stewards were of the view that his actions did not affect the placings. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into his whip use in the straight as he was no longer available on course.

Warpedo Rider Shaun Cooper reported the mare travelled well in the race, dipped near the 250 metres and then failed to quicken as expected. He added Warpedo would be better suited with the addition of blinkers.

Change It Up When racing keenly for some distance passing the 1100 metres, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of Squibbly Dibbly; and then passing the 700 metres shifted out and allowed to stride to settle outside the leader.

All Aglow Again- Reared on jumping away resulting in rider J Saunders becoming dislodged. Trainer Mr G Kavanagh was notified a warning would be issued against the mare. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Mutapa- Over raced in the middle stages when the riderless All Aglow Again raced to the geldings outside. Hampered near the 100m by the riderless horse.
Subsequent to the event, J Saunders was examined by the RV doctor, and deemed fit to fulfill his remaining engagements.
The false rail, on the inside of the track, near the 200m, that enables the barriers to be removed from the track was unable to be secured, before the field passed that point shortly after straightening on the second occasion.

Miss Money Upon return to scale Rider L Taylor reported that his saddle slipped rounding the home turn and as a result was unable to ride the mare out in his usual vigour for the remainder of the race.

Spirit Of The Cape Rider K Bailey lost use of her offside rein before regathering it a short distance thereafter.
Caveman Began awkwardly.
Ever Spring Slow to begin and as a result settled at the rear of the field. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 1300 metres brushed the running rail and became unbalanced.
Zou Zou For You Slow to begin. Near the 400 metres was held up for clear running before shifting wider on the track to obtain running. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted on the mare today, rider J Virgona reported that he had been instructed to attempt to settle the mare and ride it in a position with cover as connections were mindful that the mare only possessed a short turn of foot. J Virgona further stated that the mare began well and that in the straight on the first occasion he was able to find a position midfield with cover, which was closer than he had anticipated. He added that in the early and middle stages he was mindful that the runners in front had set what he believed was a quick tempo and for this reason he did not urge his mount forward to maintain contact with these runners. Further to this, near the 800 metres he was reluctant to place the mare under pressure to urge it forward because he was of the opinion that this would be detrimental to the mares chances and as such he continued to allow it to travel where it was comfortable. J Virgona added that near the 600 metres when Caveman improved around him, continued to allow the mare to travel before he then commenced to place the mare under pressure to which it responded well from the 400 metres. He added that in retrospect from the 800 metres he should have allowed the mare to stride forward in an attempt to put his mount closer to the runners in front of him and that near the 600 metres when Caveman raced to his outside he should have placed his mount under pressure sooner than which he did to afford his mount the best opportunity to improve into the race. Trainer J Bridgeman confirmed the instructions issued to rider J Virgona. Stewards noted his comments and agreed with his assessment however notified J Virgona that in future he would be expected to ride all his mounts in a manner that left no room for query. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 5 the phelps last lap trophy(3) handicap - 1650 metres:

Race 6 no fuss event hire healesville cup - 1650 metres:
The start was delayed due to Hesontherun having to have his near fore plate reshod.
Hesontherun Shortly after the start was steadied when tightened for room between Im Peter and Derek The Viking which shifted in.
Im Peter Dipped on jumping.
Sebring Star Near the 1300 metres became unbalanced when racing in restricted room to the inside of Derek The Viking. Near the 300 metres became unbalanced for several strides. Rider L Taylor reported that near the 300 metres the gelding put in several awkward strides at which point his saddle slipped back placing him at a disadvantage and for this reason he eased the gelding down from this point.

Travelling Soldier Commenced to buck shortly after the start before being eased out of the event by its rider. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer T Kilgower was advised that the mare is suspended from racing until such time as it completes a satisfactory jump out in race day gear.
 
Race 3 brad gray 50th birthday bash trophy - 1008 metres:
Poco Print Began awkwardly getting its head up.

Race 4 mickey gordon island dash trophy - 1008 metres:
Spinrich Rider T Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii), the particulars of the charge being that she used her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metre mark. T Johnsons license to ride in picnic races was suspended for a period of 2 picnic meetings, commencing midnight 10 January 2021 and to expire midnight 23 January 2021. In addition, T Johnson was fined a sum of $100. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account her guilty plea, record, the fact that she won the race and the totality of her whip use. Further, she was severely reprimanded for using her whip on consecutive strides on several occasions prior to the 100 metre mark.
Mary Magpie A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have been galloped on the right hind leg.
Warrigal Mac Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
Little Red Rooster Began awkwardly. Got its head up and raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. When racing keenly near the 800 metres got its head when being steading away from the heels of Mary Magpie.

Diamond Stock Performed below market expectations. Rider G Seccombe could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

It was noted that todays racebook included the second page of the race 4 field inserted after race 2. Patrons were alerted by the broadcast on numerous occasions to avoid confusion.
After persistent showers during the early races, Stewards downgraded the track to a soft (6) after Race 3, particularly in relation to several areas of the track which had softened, despite much of the track remaining reasonably firm.
With recent installation of new plastic running rail, red painting of the final 100 metres of the inside running rail was incomplete, and further attempts to complete this work were thwarted by wet weather. As a result, red tape was installed at the 100 metre mark and along the top of the rail from that point, which while visible to riders and Stewards, was difficult to detect when viewing film footage of the race.
Race 1 lister family maiden plate - 1150 metres:
Bimmies Twin Jumped away awkwardly, and then raced wide in the early stages of the race.
Surely Nobel In the middle stages of the race had a tendency to lay out, and as a result raced wider on the track.
Calypso Rich Hampered just prior to the winning post when Surely Nobel shifted in slightly.
Race 2 OAKDALE MEAT CO Trophy race (2) - 1150 metres:
 
Rokurokubi After being loaded in the starting stalls, became caught in an awkward position for some time and had to be removed by barrier staff. Rokurokubi was withdrawn from the race on veterinary advice at 2.57pm. Stewards ordered the following under the provisions of Rule 4.3.2(a)(ii)(C): All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: Win Bets 57 cents, Place Bets (For Winner) 38 cents, Place Bets (For 2nd) - 38 cents. *All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket. Due to the large deductions, small field and variation in prices with bookmakers, the Bookmakers Supervisor consulted with bookmakers to ensure that under the provisions of Rule 4.3.6(a) punters were not returned an amount less than their original stake.
A considerable time after the race, Rokurokubi was again examined by RVs Veterinary Surgeon who reported that the mare had sustained no injuries as a result of the incident.
As a result of this incident the start of the race was considerably delayed.
Minnas Girl Stood in the starting stalls next to Rokurokubi, and after the event which led to that mares withdrawal, was removed from the stalls and examined by RVs veterinary surgeon prior to being declared fit to race. Had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle stages, and near the 700 metres was steadied off the heels of Stormus, and shifted out slightly, resulting in Hurricane Jack being taken out wider on the track. Was again steadied near the 600 metres when overracing.
Race 3 TAC BE RACES READY TROPHY RACE- 1150 metres:
Royal Roulette Raced wide throughout. Raced ungenerously when taking the turn near the 700 metres.
 
Race 4 MALCOM LUGG MEMORIAL trophy race (1) - 1600 metres:
All Brown Slow to begin.
So I Am Rider Tim Grace stated to Stewards that after beginning extremely well from the outside gate, he elected to go forward to take advantage of the good start, aware that the gelding had previously raced in a forward position particularly at picnics, whereas in higher class races the gelding tended to settle further back.
 
Race 5 elders merton cup - 1900 metres:
Another Prince Jumped away awkwardly.
Cheners When attempting to improve near the 400 metres, had to be steadied when attempting to take a neat run to the inside of Johnny Romance (Grant Seccombe) which shifted in slightly when struck with the whip. Grant Seccombe was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. Beaten favourite rider Shaun Cooper stated that he lost momentum when trying to put the gelding into the race near the 400 metres, but from that point struggled to quicken after the leader and eventual winner had strung the field out.
 
Race 6 merton traders open trophy race - 1600 metres:
Captain Kittinger Slow to begin. Performed poorly. Rider Grant Seccombe stated that after starting slowly, the gelding lost its footing slightly turning out of the straight the first time, and from that point felt uncomfortable in the going, but nonetheless he was disappointed that the gelding had been uncompetitive. An examination by RVs veterinary Surgeon subsequent to the race found no obvious abnormalities. Trainer Troy Kilgower was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding in respect to its lack of competitiveness, and should it perform in a similar manner further action may be taken.
King Valour Raced tightly on the inside of Dynamic Moss when turning out of the straight the first time, and at that point may have slightly lost its footing resulting in rider Leigh Taylor becoming momentarily unbalanced.

Race 1 YEA FUELS AND FOOD TROPHY (1) HANDICAP - 2140 metres:

Doctor Timor Raced keenly through the early and middle stages
Johnny Romance Approaching the 200m when racing tight between Doctor Timor and Jocks was eased to avoid the heels of Jocks. When questioned rider G Seccombe explained that the gelding travelled well throughout the event however under pressure in the straight and in his opinion disappointing.
S Cooper pleaded guilty to charge under the provisions of A132(7)(ii) in that he used his whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100mwhihc is four more than permitted. S Cooper had his permit to ride in races suspended for a period to commence midnight 19th December 2020 and to expire midnight 28th December 2020, a total of 2 picnic race meetings. S Cooper was also fined the sum of $100. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea, totality of whip strikes and the fact he won the race.
Race 2 YEA MOTEL TROPHY (2) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:
Dubian Myth When questioned regarding her riding C King explained she had been instructed to ride the gelding with cover toward the rear of the field and after being slow to begin settled at the rear. When questioned regarding her riding from the 600m she explained the gelding failed to travel throughout the event and despite her urgings failed to handle the hill and for this reason lost ground. She added after balancing up in the straight the gelding finished the race off satisfactorily. Stewards noted her comments.
Rokurokubi Rider G Seccombe was spoken to advisedly to ensure he rides his mounts out fully to the end of the race.
 
Race 3 REDDROPS FOODWORKS SISTER OLICE HANDICAP - 3000 metres:
Another Prince Slow into stride. When questioned regarding his riding T Grace explained it had been the intention to settle back in field with the main focus being to have the gelding settled and allow him to travel into the event to run out a strong 3000m. He added through the middle stages of the event even though he was racing along way from the main body of the field the gelding was travelling well within himself and travelled into the race strongly from the 600m. He added when travelling strongly into the race near the 300m he had to severely check his mount to avoid the fallen rider. A post race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After viewing the race T Grace conceded he may have given up to much ground through the early and middle stages of the event.
Polanaise Slow to begin. Near the 300m faltered and knuckled resulting in rider C King becoming dislodged. A post race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Race 4 CYRIL AND JOHN MCCORMICK APPRECIATION 0-55 HCP - 1300 metres:
Kaphit When questioned regarding the performance rider C King explained that the gelding travelled well throughout the event however in her opinion failed to respond to her riding when placed under pressure in the straight which she attributed to todays weight impost.
Race 5 RONALD AND KEITH ALDOUS APPRECIATION MAIDEN PLATE - 1300 metres:

Flying Meatball Approaching the 1000m shifted out and bumped Our Boy Cam. When questioned regarding the performance rider S Cooper explained the mare raced greenly throughout the event and failed to handle the turns. It was his recommendation to the stable to drop the mare back in trip with the addition of blinkers for its next start.
Race 6 ROYAL MAIL HOTEL TROPHY (3) HANDICAP - 1590 metres:
Molly Dook Underwent a pre race Veterinary examination and was deemed suitable to race by the RV Veterinary surgeon. When questioned regarding the performance the only explanation S Coper could offer was the mare was suited to racing on the inside which in his opinion was inferior ground to the outside.

The start of this race was delayed approximately 5 minutes to allow J Sanders the rider of Francoli the opportunity to re-weigh after some of his gear was not present when the horse was first saddled.
Shadforth Lass (NZ) Slow to begin.
Francoli Near the 100 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of Galaxy Rack which shifted in marginally.
 
Race 3 bling it on pony trophy race (1) handicap - 1000 metres:
Cost Dave A Penny Bumped on jumping with Little Red Rooster. Shortly after the start was steadied after being carried out by Spinrich which shifted out.
Little Red Rooster Bumped on jumping with Cost Dave A Penny. Raced three wide throughout.
Nick The Barman Slow to muster in the early stages. Performed below market expectations. Rider L Taylor reported that the gelding which was first up would derive benefit from todays run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
Spinrich Shifted out shortly after the start. Approaching the 600 metres had to be eased away from the heels of Shotchu which shifted in.
Charlies Ticket Near the 600 metres had to be steadied off the heels of Shotchu (G Seccombe) which shifted in when not fully clear. G Seccombe was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) and advised to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future.
 
Race 4 barriers australia p/l open trophy race handicap - 1000 metres:
Riohsei Slow to begin. Near the 800 metres commenced to buck for short distance. Trainer T Kilgower was notified that the mare would now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
Third Coming Slow to begin.
Sebring Star Slow to begin. Near the 300 metres shifted out to obtain clear running.
Mary Magpie Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
Laurentian Near the 600 metres lay in and bumped with Elusive Shine, and as a result became unbalanced.
Elusive Shine Near the 600 metres was bumped by Laurentian. Lay out rounding the home turn.
Stormus Near the 250 metres had to shift out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of Elusive Shine.
Evening Spirit Near the 300 metres had to be checked and lost ground when tightened for room between Dark Ensign (T Johnson) which shifted in when not clear, and Sebring Star (L Taylor) which shifted out when not clear. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Evening Spirit shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.
Dark Ensign Near the 300 metres shifted in.
Rider T Johnson (Dark Ensign) pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(a), the careless riding being that near the 300 metres she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of Evening Spirit which had to be checked when tightened for room between Sebring Star and Dark Ensign. T Johnsons permit to ride in picnic races was suspended for a period to commence midnight the 19th of December until midnight the 28th of December, a period of 2 picnic race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account T Johnsons guilty plea, good record, the mitigating circumstances of a shift from the inside by Sebring Star and that the incident was in the low range.

Amys Pride Hung out under pressure in the straight.
Tallowberg Tightened for room on jumping between Zou Zou For You and Miss Tuneful, both of which shifted ground. Trailed the field throughout. Rider G Seccombe reported that the filly failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer T Kilgower was notified that the filly was now suspended from racing until such time as it performs to the satisfaction of Stewards in a trial. T Kilgower reported that it was now his intention to retire the filly.
Our Boy Cam Performed below market expectations. Rider S Cooper reported that the gelding travelled comfortably in the early and middle stages though when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and weakened over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
 
 
Race 6 gary cluning racing stables trophy race (1) handicap- 1650 metres:
All Brown Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 1000 metres when over-racing improved onto the heels of Devine Tilly, before shifting out and bumping with Aladdin Sane.
Aladdin Sane Near the 100 metres was bumped and carried out by All Brown which shifted out.

Doctor Timor Began awkwardly shifted in and bumped with Pommy Bird.
Like You Look Change of tactics Attempt to be ridden further forward than most recent starts. Settled outside of the leader.
Castanea Near the 500 metres was disappointed for a neat run between Like You Look and Redeemed.
Pommy Bird Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped with Doctor Timor. Performed below market expectations. Rider S Cooper reported that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 2 GALAXY PRINT & DESING OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 2000 metres:
Hard To Kiss Near the 1600 metres the saddle shifted forward on the gelding which placed rider J Geddes at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Was eased out of the event from the 600 metres however still completed the course.

Race 3 BAY LINEN MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:
Caveman -Performed below market expectations. Rider S Copper reported that the gelding failed to muster speed in the early stages and would be better suited to races over further distances. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Near the 300 metres became unbalanced when attempting a tight run to the inside of Shaziing when had commenced to weaken.
Revelry Slow into stride.
Flying Meatball Raced three wide without cover throughout.
Jezebel Change of tactics With the addition of Visors for the first-time attempt to be ridden further forward. Began awkwardly before settling handy position with cover.
Ramu Over the concluding stages shifted in and bumped with Shadforth Lass (NZ).
Shadforth Lass (NZ) Near the 800 metres raced in restricted room to the inside of Shaziing and in doing so bumped with that mare. Lay out under pressure in the straight. Over the concluding stages continued to shift out and bumped with Ramu which at this point shifted in.
Shaziing Near the 800 metres shifted in and bumped with Shadforth Lass (NZ). Gave ground from the 400 metres. Rider L Taylor reported that the mare raced keenly in the early and middle stages before commencing to weaken from the 400 metres.
 
Race 4 PENINSULA HOT SPRINGS TROPHY RACE(2) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:
Stirrup Raced wide without cover throughout.
Third Coming- Change of tactics With the reapplication of Blinkers, attempt to be ridden further forward than most recent starts. Raced keenly in the lead. Made the crossing near the 1000 metres awkwardly.
Cool Hand Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
Swanky Lady - Commenced awkwardlyHung in under pressure near the 100 metres before being straightened.
At Large Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running from the 350 metres until passing the 200 metres.
 
Race 5 MANY LITTLE OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 1200 metres:
Dash For Dee Held up for clear running near the 300 metres behind Keep the Magic which had commenced to give ground before shifting to the outside of that geldings heels to obtain clear running.

Lord Mapperley (NZ) Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
Keep The Magic (NZ) - Rider D Walker reported that the gelding did not appreciate the shifting track conditions.

Race 6 ROSEBUD COUNTRY CLUB TROPHY RACE(1) HANDICAP - 1600 metres:
Pistol (NZ) Rider R Douglas was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR211 for returning to scale in excess of 1kg over his allotted weight. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account R Douglass record in relation to the rule and that it had rained throughout the running of the race.
Stephens Green Raced wide without cover in the early and middle stages.
Ever Spring Over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover in the early stages. For a short distance approaching the 400 metres was held up for clear running and had to be steadied. Lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
Nobby Tom Rider S Cooper reported that the gelding hung out when under under pressure from 600 meters.

Race 1 - SAN REMO COMMUNITY BANK TROPHY - 1708 metres:
Fromista - Withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 1:02pm due to failing to arrive on course by the prescribed time. Trainer R Meuniers explanation regarding transport issues was accepted.
All Brown- Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.
Race 2 - MATHESON FAMILY MAIDEN - 1508 metres:
Pommy Bird - Commenced awkwardly, losing ground. Approaching the home turn was eased outwards when close to the heels of the tiring Ever Spring.
Sockaholic - Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider C King reported it was the intention to ride with cover as it can over race.
Devine Tilly - Near the 1300m was momentarily crowded to the inside of Ever Spring which shifted in and away from Castanea.
Ever Spring - Race wide without cover for a majority of the event.
Race 3 - TOM WILSON MEMORIAL - 1608 metres:
Cordoba - Raced keenly in the early stages and as a result was permitted to stride forward to settle three wide outside the leaders near the 1100m.
Stagecraft - Weakened from the 600m. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Stagecraft must be subject to examination by a veterinarian with specialist qualifications in equine internal medicine, prior to starting in any race or trial. The examination should include echocardiography, electrocardiography at rest and at exercise and any other examination that the examining veterinarian requests. Prior to starting in any race, and pending Stewards receiving a satisfactory veterinary report from the specialist examination, such horses must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards in an organised trial of at least 1,000 metres and have a satisfactory veterinary report that includes the results of cardiac auscultation within 30 minutes of completion of the trial.
Race 4 - ANDREW & STEPHEN MAIDEN - 1008 metres:
Flying Meatball - Reared over in the mounting yard making contact with the enclosure fencing and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 2:55pm. Rider T Piggin was examined by the RV medical staff and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagement. A veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions to the right hind leg. Trainer C Diplock was advised that as a result a warning would be placed on the mares record for its pre race behaviour.
Lucky Dozen - Commenced awkwardly and shortly after shifted out and bumped Caveman. Raced wide from the 600m.
Caveman - Bumped on jumping away.
Fighting Zeffa - Slow to begin.
Tomjam - Raced wide without cover throughout.
