Other Comments / Explanations:

As Jordan Sanders rode his 5th winner at the meeting at Healesville (11th January) his claim for this meeting was reduced to 2kg.

The explanation regarding the late arrival of Launch Time (Traffic incident) was accepted.

Race 1 - BETEASY MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:

My Girl Nat - Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after making contact with the fence when leaving the enclosure and was passed fit to start.

Plenty of Fish - Began awkwardly and then had to be checked when crowded for room between Stagecraft and Marilyns Wish, losing ground.

Fezforsure - Passing the 1000m was steadied outwards to avoid the heels of Nick The Barman which shifted out slightly.

Here De Drums - Raced wide throughout.

Race 2 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUTCHY TROPHY RACE(2) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Alsimon - Underwent a Veterinary examination upon arrival after backing up after starting at Healesville (11th Jan) and was passed fit.

Airborne Magic - Commenced awkwardly losing ground and then failed to stretch out despite the urgings of its rider, losing contact with the bulk of the field. Rider C. Pace reported that the gelding failed to travel at any stage during the race. Trainer R. Brown was advised that due to the performance it must trial to the Stewards prior to racing again.

The Anarchist - Commenced awkwardly.

Angel Toff - Raced wide without cover for majority of the event.

Nobby Tom - Performed below market expectations. Rider M. Morris reported that the gelding travelled well in the early stages however when placed under pressure failed to respond and was disappointing.

Race 3 - FLINDERS CRICKET CLUB OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 1050 metres:

Prior to correct weight Stewards viewed the head on footage before declaring King Mapoora (see below) a starter.

King Mapoora - Re-saddled on arrival at the barriers. As start was affected, commenced awkwardly and then refused to proceed any further before ducking in causing its rider to dismount. Trainer R. Stephens reported that the gelding was agitated pre-race and this may have contributed to its manners at the start. He further indicated that it was the intention to send the gelding for a spell. Stewards advised that prior to racing again the gelding must trial to the stewards satisfaction.

Race 4 - TED BULL & DAUGHTER FUNERAL DIRECTORS MAIDEN PLATE - 2000 metres:

Amicabeel - Dwelt at the start, losing considerable ground (8L). Also when jumping, threw its head back striking its rider in the face. The C. Littlefield stable was advised that prior to racing again the mare must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards.

Bon Torr Mor - Began awkwardly.

Dante Pierro - Jumped the crossing near the 1600m.

Australind - Performed below market expectations. Rider M. Keenan reported that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages, however when placed under pressure, failed to respond and was disappointing. Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 5 - CRV & COMBINED PICNIC RACING CLUBS TROPHY RACE(2) HANDICAP - 2000 metres:

Drexler - Stable advised intention to have the gelding ridden further back. Trainer P. Healey was reminded of his obligation to notify changes of tactic sooner than he did on this occasion, which was just prior to riders mounting. After commencing awkwardly, settled at rear of the field.

Little Cranach - Near the 100m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Red My Mind (C. Pace) which shifted outwards and away from Ponbar Finale. C. Pace was advised she must straighten her mounts when they shift ground sooner than she did on this occasion.

Ponbar Finale - Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

Red My Mind - Rider C. Pace reported that when weakening in the straight her mount raced waywardly.

Pistol - Performed below market expectations. Rider M. Keenan reported that it travelled well in the early and middle stages however it failed to respond when placed under pressure. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Pistol shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.

Race 6 - WILLUM WARRAIN TROPHY RACE(1) HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Something Missing - Underwent a Veterinary inspection upon arrival after being fractious en route and was passed fit to start.
