Race 1 Killy Catering OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 1708 metres:

RIVERINA EXPLORER Raced wide in the early stages until being allowed to stride and take the lead near the 1200 metres. Rider R Douglas reported that the gelding got its tongue over the bit and a result gave ground quickly in the straight.

SPEED STINGER a subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had sustained a severe injury to the off fore fetlock, trainer I Webb was notified that a veterinary certificate must be produced prior to racing again. Speed Stinger was treated on course.

JAWS OF LIFE Improved around the field from the 1000 metres to take up the lead.

OUR CEE BEE After passing the 800 metres, was held up and taken back through the field before gaining clear running near the 400 metres.

KNOCKOUT JOHNNY Began awkwardly. Rider J Eady was severely reprimanded and reminded of his obligations of the whip rule (AR132(7)(a)(ii)), regarding how many strikes are permitted prior to the 100 metres. Stewards took into account J Eady has just returned to race riding after a long break.

Race 2 BASS COAST SEED SUPPLIES MAIDEN PLATE - 1008 metres:

BEAUT CHOICE Hung out rounding the home turn and took Groove On and Madam Ruby out wider on the course.

CANOTIER Slow into stride.

GO LUCA Began awkwardly.

GROOVE ON Taken wider on the track rounding the home turn.

MADAM RUBY Taken wider on the track rounding the home turn.

Race 3 WONTHAGGI WORKMENS CLUB TROPHY (1) HANDICAP - 1008 metres:

FAITH IN BEERS Got both hind legs up, when fractious in the barriers, acting on veterinary advice stewards authorised the withdrawal of Faith In Beers at 2:33pm. Trainer I Webb was notified that the gelding is suspended from racing until it performs to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a jump out.

All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.

All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Win Bets Kuroyume - 11 cents

Place Bets (For Winner) Kuroyume - 11 cents

Place Bets (For 2nd) Ten Times 12 cents

*All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.

TEN TIMES connections advised they will attempt to ride Ten Times more forward then previous start. Led.

KUROYUME Was in the adjoining stall of Faith In Beers, underwent a veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.

Race 4 SAN REMO HOTEL OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1008 metres:

MOTIFIC Rider M Keenan reported that although Motific was pressured early for the lead, it was still disappointing when it failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

DOMINANT WAY Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the geldings performance, Rider S Cooper explained that he travelled well in the early stages with the leading horses, however Dominant Way could not sustain the early speed and as a result settled behind the leaders passing the 700 metres. He added that Dominant Way hung out and whilst he kept it balanced rounding the home turn, the gelding did not have a lot to offer after he had urged it with the whip in the straight. His comments were noted.

BUDDY FOR NOTHING Slow to begin.

SALLY SELLS SHELLS (NZ) Raced wide without cover.

SNOWY BLACK Held up for a short distance approaching the 100 metres.

Race 5 SAN REMO IGA OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 2308 metres:

COLONEL KLINK (NZ) Faltered approaching the 600 metres. Rider T Grace was spoken to advisedly in regards to his whip use and action.

MR SCHILLER Checked at the 600 metres when tightened by clair Raider (C Pace) which shifted in slightly when Katazyna raced tight to that geldings outside. Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that C Pace was fully responsible for the incident, however issued her with a severe reprimand (AR131(a)). A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

JOHNNY ROMANCE Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Rider M Keenan reported than his mount did not travel well throughout the event.

ITZ A DEBACLE Rider J Eady reported that his mount did not travel well throughout the event.

Race 6 BASS COAST STOCK FEEDS TROPHY (1) HANDICAP - 1708 metres:

MALONGA Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres.

SUPER FRANKIE Faltered near the 250 metres.

ROCOCO CHANEL Raced wide without cover from the 900 metres. A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be mildly bilaterally lame in front.

WOOPED EM AGAIN Slow to begin.
