Other Comments / Explanations:

Race 1 MANSFIELD CONSTRUCTIONS MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres:

Correct weight was delayed to allow the Stewards to view the film before deciding there was no grounds for any objection.

Donny East Flyer Commenced awkwardly.

Australind Slow to begin. Checked when held up behind the tiring Donny East Flyer near the 500m. After obtaining a narrow run between Biancommand (G Seccombe) and Charlies Gem ( C Pace) passing the 100m was then crowded for room between this runners when both shifted ground and had to be eased as a result. Both G Seccombe and C Pace were advised to show greater caution in similar circumstances.

Mr Worldwide raced keenly in the early stages.

Charlies Gem Checked off the heels of Biancommand (G Seccombe) which shifted inwards when not fully clear. Over raced in the early stages and near the winning post on the first occasion dipped when racing tightly between runners.

Wooped em Again Near the 900m clipped the heels of Australind which was racing to its outside and blundered losing considerable ground. Whilst Stewards could not establish the exact cause of the incident they did no feel it wasthe fault of any one rider they took no further action.

Grant Seccombe pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a), the carelessness being that near the 1500m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of Charlies Gem which had to be checked. G Seccombe had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence midnight tonight and to expire midnight the 24th November (a period of 2 picnic race meetings). In assessing the matter Stewards took into account his guilty plea, excellent record and that the incident was in the higher levels of the low range.
