Tigerdan Vetted on arrival at the barriers and was passed fit to run. Licensed trainer James Vosti was issued with a charge under the provisions of AR175(q), the misconduct being that whilst in the wash bay prior to race three he did kick the gelding, which had been fractious in the chest/stomach area. Acting under the provisions of LR6C(2A) where James Vosti indicated that he would plead guilty before the RAD board, Stewards determined the matter and fined him $500. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his record, his guilty plea and his remorse for his actions.

Razzle Dazzle Rock Lay in when under pressure in the straight and then over the concluding stages raced close to the heels of Breakneck Bandit and as a result was steadied and was not ridden out fully to the winning post.

Jaws Of Life When questioned regarding the tactics, particularly in the middle stages where his mount lost contact with the bulk of the field, rider S. Cooper explained that he was instructed to settle back in the field which is its usual racing pattern. He said that during the middle stages he was aware that he was getting too far back however he was unable to keep in touch as his mount was not travelling comfortably at any stage during the race. He added that after placing his mount under pressure rounding the turn his mount still did not come into the race as he would have hoped and only made ground on the runners tiring in the straight. His comments were noted.

Dylan Dean rider of Paterangi pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) the particulars of the charge being that he did use his whip on 10 occasions (5 more than permitted) prior to the 100m mark. Dylan Deans license to ride in picnic races was suspended for a period to commence midnight 26/12/2018 and to expire midnight 1/1/2019, a total of 2 picnic race meetings. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account his guilty plea and his record relative to whip breaches.
