Other Comments / Explanations:

Prior to the start of the meeting, Stewards inspected the track with all riders engaged in the first race to discuss an area of concern near the 400 metres, where the surface presented quite shifty and loose under foot due to aeration of the track pulling out the cover of grass in this section. Following this inspection it was agreed upon to run the first race and then assess the condition of the track thereafter.

Race 1 Bob andrews memorial maiden plate - 1200 metres:

The Extortionist Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.

Jayembee Commenced to weaken from the 500 metres and was eased down shortly thereafter. Rider C King reported her mount failed to respond to her riding when placed under pressure. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer R Manning was advised that a warning would be placed on the geldings record for its uncompetitive performance. R Manning advised that Jayembee would now be spelled.

Mr Richie Rider T Lake reported that his mount did not feel comfortable in its action when under pressure over the final 100 metres, and for this reason he stopped riding his mount out over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer T Kilgower was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required prior to Mr Richie racing again.

Race 2 dormit industries open trophy race handicap - 1200 metres:

Hairini Tycoon When questioned regarding her tactics, rider A Bence explained that after her mount had gone a short distance it did not feel as though it was travelling comfortably, and for this reason she commenced to urge Hairini Tycoon in an effort to keep in contact with the field. She said that near the 700 metres, her mount commenced to hang out badly, and she was then obliged to keep hold of Hairini Tycoons head to try to correct the gelding and stay on the course, and for this reason she did lose ground on the field for some distance. She added that after turning into the straight, her mount commenced to race truly however did not hit the line as she would have expected when she was able to ride Hairini Tycoon out with her usual vigour. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Reynolds was advised that the gelding would now be suspended from racing until such time it trials to the Satisfaction of Stewards in a jumpout due to it hanging out.

Specific Choice Rider C Pace reported that the gelding did not appreciate the tight turning circuit.

Family Business Reluctant to proceed to the start. Trainer T Josephs was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for its pre race behaviour today.

Coureuse Controls Resaddled on arrival at the barriers, resulting in the start of the race being slightly delayed.

Cost Dave A Penny Commenced awkwardly then dipped shortly after the start, losing ground.

Lochend Emmarose Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

Race 4 nullamunjie olive oil tambo valley cup - 1600 metres:

Lardner Lou Examined on arrival after running at Balnarring yesterday and was passed fit to start.

Unruly Student Rider P Tait reported that her mount which gave ground from the 600 metres, did not feel right in its action after hitting itself during the running of the event. An irregular heart rhythm was detected on post race veterinary examination. Unruly Student shall not start in any race until the Stewards have received a satisfactory veterinary report. The report must include the results of an ECG performed at rest and cardiac auscultation performed within 30 minutes of completing a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres.

Victorian Crown Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover from the 600 metres.

King Joy Shortly after the start was inconvenienced when tightened for room between Bolshoi Belle and Shanghai Rooster, which shifted out slightly. Approaching the 1300 metres was eased when awkwardly placed between Lardner Lou and Victorian Crown.

Dont Shoot Raced wide without cover throughout the event.

Shanghai Rooster Rider M Corbisiero was fined $100 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on nine occasions prior to the 100 metres, four more than is permitted.
