High Flying Joe Commenced awkwardly shifting out abruptly. Reluctant to stride out in the early stages despite the efforts of its rider. Raced extremely ungenerously in the early stages. Approaching the 800 metres commenced to hang out. Passing the 700 metres the saddle on the gelding commenced to slip sideways. Near the 400 metres the saddle on the gelding further slipped resulting in rider C Pace becoming dislodged. Va Va Voom Commenced awkwardly. Tactics queried. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted on the mare today, specifically in relation to the margin in which Va Va Voom established on the rest of the field in the early and middle stages, rider D Walker reported that it had been her intention to lead today on the mare. D Walker further added that after commencing awkwardly she then allowed the mare to stride forward to obtain the lead and that once the mare found the lead it was reluctant to settle and therefore pulled hard in the early stages. D Walker further stated that for this reason she allowed the mare to continue to stride forward rather than continue to attempt restrain and for this reason established larger margin on the rest of the field than anticipated. Stewards noted her comments. Commenced to hang out from the 600 metres allowing Kinjulator to obtain a run to its inside. Trainer C Barnes was notified that a warning would now be placed on the mare for hanging. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
