Other Comments / Explanations:

Prior to the running of race one Stewards along with all riders engaged in race one inspected a section of the track at the 300 metres where an overnight sprinkler leakage had caused an area of concern which was significantly softer than the rest of the track. All riders engaged in race one then partook in an anonymous ballot where it was established that the collective of riders wished to proceed with the running of race one. Following the running of race one stewards and riders again inspected the section of track and deemed it safe to continue racing..

Prior to the declaration of correct weight Grant Seccombe rider of Big John Stud (2nd Placegetter) lodged an objection against Dad NN Briis Shed (1st Placegetter) alleging inference over the final 200 metres. On evidence it was established that approaching the 100 metres Dad NN Briis Shed shifted in under pressure and made contact with Big John Stud which had also shifted out slightly. As stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that the interference suffered was greater than the official margin of a long neck, Stewards dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the judgees numbers. Anita Bell rider of Dad NN Briis Shed was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
