Race 1 the dalyston football club open trophy handicap - 2008 metres:

Lubricate Performed below market expectations. Rider C Pace stated that the gelding travelled well though when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding in the straight. C Pace further added that in her opinion the gelding did not appreciate the 2008 metres of todays event and is better suited over shorter distances. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages before being permitted to stride forward and settle outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

Goldini (IRE) Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until just on straightening.

Tearaway Tommy Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Earn A Quid Rider M Corbisiero stated that the gelding was reluctant to stride forward in the early stages despite his efforts to ride it forward, and he therefore settled further back in the field than he had intended. Passing the 1000 metres commenced to over-race before being allowed to stride forward. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.

Heebites Raced wide without cover from the 900 metres.

Mozarts Dream Slow to begin.

Race 2 the wonthaggi club open trophy handicap - 1008 metres:

Howling Wolf Commenced awkwardly shifted out and bumped Distillery (NZ). Hung in under pressure in the straight. Over the concluding stages when hanging in had to steadied to avoid the heels of Bemarydan, and as a result went to the line not fully tested.

Distillery (NZ) Bumped on jumping. Lay out under pressure rounding the home turn.

Tupelo Boy Slow to begin. Rounding the home turn carried wider on the track by Distillery (NZ) which lay out under pressure.

Race 3 the dave chooka howe trophy (1) handicap - 1008 metres:

Hell Of A Mess Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Performed below market expectations. Rider D Walker could offer no explanation for the mares poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Shortly after the start bumped by Rampaging Jackson and Code It, both of which shifted ground. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Ragtime Slow to begin before being bumped by Rampaging Jackson which shifted in and Hell Of A Mess which was carried out after bumping with Code It.

Code It Shifted out on jumping and bumped with Hell Of A Mess.

Rampaging Jackson Shifted in on jumping.

Sir Wolf Bounded on jumping. Passing the 400 metres had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of Shes Miss Lippy.

Race 4 the stephen manion cup maiden plate - 1008 metres:

Shes A Bee Performed below market expectations. Rider D Walker stated that the mare travelled well though when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding in the straight. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Thats All Zariz Commenced awkwardly. Raced greenly when under pressure in the straight.

Exbourne Avenue Slow to begin.

Ten Times Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Trappys Boy Slow to begin. Passing the 200 metres had to be eased and shift to the outside of Copperhead Roses heels which shifted in when laying in.

Copperhead Rose Lay in under pressure passing the 200 metres.

Race 5 bendigo bank cowes maiden plate - 1708 metres:

Katazyna (NZ) Trainer Mr R Laing was fined $100 under the provisions of LR30A(2) for the race day notification of M Corbisiero as the rider of the filly.

Pongo Pygmas Performed below market expectations. Rider C Pace stated that the gelding failed to travel throughout and commenced to weaken badly from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. Trainer Mr J Keane was notified that prior to racing again he would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding specifically that the gelding is in a suitable racing condition.

El Lil Hope Passing the 1600 metres shifted in and bumped Sharkski which shifted out marginally. Approaching the 1500 metres was bumped heavily and became unbalanced when Sharkski shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. Rider D Walker could offer no explanation for the mares poor performance.

Sharkski Approaching the 1500 metres shifted out abruptly inconveniencing runners racing its outside. Passing the 1200 metres commenced to hang out severely and shifted to the outside of the track. Trainer Mr M Templeton was advised that the gelding must now trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again.

Master Skalpa Passing the 1200 metres when racing to the outside of Sharkskis heels was obliged to shift out wider on the track when that gelding commenced to hang out.

Follies Slow to begin

Shes A Minx - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from one nostril. Trainer Mrs D Clover was notified that the mare is now banned from racing under the provisions of AR53A(7) until such time that it undergoes a gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a steward.

Race 6 the wonthaggi adult riding club trophy (3) handicap - 1608 metres:

Rock It Doc Trainer Mr S Eden was fined $100 under the provisions of LR30A(2) for the race day notification of M Corbisiero as the rider of the filly.

Murphys Corner Passing the 1400 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of clair Raider (M Morris) which shifted in when not fully clear. M Morris was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear.

Diamond The Lad Approaching the 400 metres had to be severely checked and clipped the heels of Repercharge which had shifted in after obtaining a neat run to the inside of Three Handles which was weakening quickly and shifted in slightly after being taken in marginally by clair Raider. After taking evidence from all riders involved stewards took no further action into the circumstances surrounding Diamond The Lad clipping heels other than to remind all riders to exercise far greater care when in similar circumstances in future.

Three Handles Commenced awkwardly. Commenced to weaken quickly from the 500 metres losing considerable ground.

clair Raider Raced wide without cover until passing the 1200 metres.
