Stewards enacted the RV hot weather policy prior the commencement of the meeting.

Race 1 wonthaggi workmens club maiden plate - 1508 metres:

Respun Change of tactics. Trainer D Curran stated that it was the stables intention to attempt to ride the gelding quieter than at its most recent starts. Settled at the rear of the field.

Follies After being fractious in the barriers and subsequently getting is near hind leg up, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to run. After passing the winning post on the first occasion became unbalanced when racing close to the running rail and shifted out.

Motown Supremes Performed below market expectations. Rider C Pace stated that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages, though when she placed her mount under pressure in the straight the saddle slipped placing her at a disadvantage over the final 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Commenced awkwardly. After passing the winning post on the first occasion was hampered and carried out by Follies which shifted out after becoming unbalanced. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn from the 600 metres til the 400 metres.

Thats All Zariz Raced wide without cover throughout. Commenced to give ground from the 400 metres.

Three Handles Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Ionaruby Lay in under pressure in the straight.

Race 2 ts construction trophy (1) handicap - 1008 metres:

Scaarjn Force Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bumped on jumping by Moss and Me which shifted out.

Moss and Me Commenced awkwardly shifting out and bumping Scaarjn Force. Over-raced in the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until approaching the 200 metres. Approaching the 100 metres when attempting a run between Bellefontein and Scaarjn Force had to be steadied when tightened for room, after Bellefontein shifted in when laying in before being corrected by its rider. Over the concluding stages had to eased when tightened for room by Shes Miss Lippy which lay in under pressure, as such Moss and Me went to the line not fully tested.

Bellefontein Passing the 500 metres when racing keenly had to be eased to avoid the heels of Scaarjn Force (M Keenan) which shifted in when not fully clear. M Keenan was advised that he would be expected to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Hung out rounding the home turn. Lay in under pressure in the straight. Passing the 100 metres shifted in when laying in.

Shes Miss Lippy Lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.

Hell Of A Mess Raced wide without cover throughout.

La Monet Commenced awkwardly.

Zupaming Slow to begin. Dipped approaching the 100 metres.

Race 3 5 blind open trophy handicap - 1008 metres:

The Flying Doormat Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until just on straightening where is gained running to the inside of Last One Laughings heels which hung out under pressure.

Avon Country Slow to begin.

Miss Eeyore Raced wide without cover throughout.

Hairini Tycoon Raced wide without cover throughout. Hung out rounding the home turn.

Freshwater Reset Performed below market expectations. Rider C Pace stated that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, though when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Race 4 alex scott & staff woolamai cup - 1708 metres:

Caves Raced wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres. Performed below market expectations. Rider J Peat stated that the mare raced flat and had a tendency to lay in throughout.

Vertigo Approaching the winning post on the first occasion had to be steadied becoming unbalanced when tightened for room by Lardner Lou , which was taken in by Keep Happy, which had been carried in marginally by Caves (J Peat) which shifted in when laying in. J Peat was advised that he would be expected to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Performed below market expectations. Rider R Goodwin could offer no explanation for the mares poor performance other than it hung out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Lardner Lou Taken in by Keep Happy passing the winning post on the first occasion.

Keep Happy Carried in marginally passing the winning post on the first occasion by Caves which shifted in when laying in.

Jilly Blu Rider G Seccombe was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(c) for making a celebratory gesture prior to his mount passing the winning post.

Race 5 san remo hotel open trophy handicap - 1508 metres:

Thunderball Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Bounded on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages.

Tearaway Tommy Commenced awkwardly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Calmalist Commenced awkwardly.

King Joy Raced wide without cover throughout.

Jakusie King Lay in under pressure in the straight.

Kai Glow Rider T Lake was fined $100 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres.

Deni Flyer Performed below market expectations. Rider R Goodwin stated that the gelding raced flat and that in his opinion it had come to end of its current preparation.

Race 6 bendigo bank san remo open trophy handicap - 2308 metres:

Trevor Performed below market expectations. Rider C King stated that it had not been her intention to lead though after beginning well she allowed the gelding to stride forward and obtain the lead. C King further added that the gelding travelled well throughout though when placed under pressure failed to respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Befitting Slow to begin.

The Mighty Jungle Commenced awkwardly.

Earn A Quid Raced wide without cover from the 1000 meters. Lay in under pressure in the straight.

Defiable Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until approaching the 200 metres. Passing the 100 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Earn A Quid which lay in under pressure.
