Woke The Lion Tactics queried. When questioned in relation to racing four wide outside the leader from the 1000 metres til the 600 metres, rider M Morris stated that she had received calls from riders to her inside and believed that she was not sufficiently clear to shift in, so she therefore elected to maintain her four wide running line, which ultimately allowed Anahata and Lubricate to obtain runs to her inside. M Morris further added that she had erred in her judgement in electing to race so wide. Stewards noted her comments.

Race 6 GEORGE BASS HOTEL OPEN TROPHY RACE HANDICAP - 2008 metres:

Vodianova Commenced awkwardly. Tactics queried. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted on the mare today, particularly in relation to fast tempo in which she set through the early stages rider M Morris stated that she had been instructed to lead and set a strong tempo as at its most recent starts the mare had shown a tendency to over-race when racing behind other runners. M Morris further added that approaching the 1000 metres when Divine Denona raced up to her outside she elected to urge her mount along to maintain her leading position, M Morris stated that that in hindsight that when Divine Denona strode to her outside she should have not further urged her mount along. Stewards noted M Morriss comments and also her relative inexperience being that this was only her 7th race ride.

Divine Denona Passing the winning post on the first occasion became unbalanced after brushing the running rail. Tactics queried. Specifically in relation to the tactics in which rider R Kirkpatrick adopted from approaching the 1500 metres to the 800 metres. Evidence was taken from rider R Kirkpatrick and trainer Mr S Eden.
