Snitzilla Attempted to hump up shortly after the start. Trainer R Manning indicated that Snitzilla would now be retired, nonetheless he was advised that a warning would be placed on the mares record for its behaviour today.

Race 3 jack richardson memorial open trophy race handicap - 1200 metres:

The Tale Of Aver Ran at Balnarring yesterday (15/04/2017). Was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon on arrival and passed fit to start.

Hairini Tycoon Hung out throughout the running of the event, placing rider Matthew Corbisiero at a disadvantage. Trainer S Reynolds was advised that the gelding would now be suspended from racing until such time it trials to the satisfaction of Stewards.

The Tale Of Aver Near the 600m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Parvenu, that was carried out by Hairini Tycoon which was hanging out.

Jakusie King Raced keenly during the middle stages. From the 400m and until the 200m was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Lubricate Began awkwardly and was then tightened for room on jumping away between Jakusie King and Chadra Boy that shifted out. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. Lubricate sustained a broken shoulder on pulling up and was humanely euthanized. This incident will be referred to the Equine Welfare and Veterinary Department.

Guadalcanal Raced wide without cover for a major part of the event.

Race 5 engel & partners trophy race (3) handicap - 1600 metres:

Calmalist (1st placegetter) Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding his vigour over the final 100m, rider G Seccombe explained that on straightening he felt that his mount had the better of Treaty Of Paris, and for this reason he allowed the mare to work to the line without placing it under hard riding. Whilst his comments were noted, G Seccombe was nonetheless advised that where possible he must ride his mounts out fully to the winning post.

Race 6 alpine angus trophy race (1) handicap - 1000 metres:

La Monet Kicked out on leaving the mounting yard and made contact with the outside running rail, and as a result received a laceration to its near hind leg. Subsequently La Monet was examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and deemed unfit to start, as such Stewards ordered the late scratching of La Monet at 4:28pm and ordered the following deductions be made in respect of betting. All monies bet for a win on the late scratching to be refunded.

All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Trainer Troy Kilgower was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to mare racing again.
