The start was effected manually for Races 3-5 due to a malfunction with the barriers.

Race 1 Alpine Civil Pty Ltd Maiden Plate 1200 metres:

General Sullivan - As the (11 year old) gelding had not raced for some time it underwent a veterinary examination upon arrival and was passed fit to run.

Specker Blue Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced greenly throughout the event. Raced wide around the home turn. Hung in badly in the straight. Trainer Rachael Gane was notified that prior to racing again the gelding must perform a jump out to the satisfaction of the stewards.

Giftant Made the crossing awkwardly near the 800m. Rider Reece Goodwin could offer no explanation for the mares performance which was below market expectations.

Race 2 Global ballooning australia maiden plate - 1600 metres:

Playthespoons Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

Make Believe Diva Turning out of the straight the mare became unbalanced when bumped by Princess Lemoore which shifted out.

Princess Lemoore Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event. Turning out of the straight bumped Make Believe Diva, resulting in that mare becoming unbalanced. Rider Reece Goodwin was notified to exercise more care in similar circumstances in the future.

Race 3 Foodworks mansfield trophy race(2) handicap - 1200 metres:

The start was effected manually due to a malfunction with the barriers. Races 4 and 5 were also manual.

Race 4 oberon estate merrijig trophy race(3) handicap - 1100 metres:

Clever Costa Rider Rob Kirkpatrick became dislodged near the 500m after the gelding clipped the heels of Ragtime. Rider Rob Kirkpatrick was notified that he must ensure he has sufficient room when taking runs in future.

La Rita Became unbalanced near the 500m when struck on the hindquarters by Clever Costa when that gelding became unbalanced after clipping the heels of Ragtime.

Rock Hard Star Had to be eased shortly after the start when tightened for room between La Rita and Ragtime.

Silver Slew - Rider Toby Lake stated that the mare made the crossing awkwardly near the 900m, however could offer no further explanation for the poor performance. The trainer Steven Noble advised the stewards that the mare will now be retired from his stable.

Race 5 mansfield courier trophy race(3) handicap - 1600 metres:

Rob Kirkpatrick was examined by the clubs medical officer and was passed fit to ride.

Kai Glow - acting on a confirmed telephone call from John Maddox representing Trainer Tania Maddox that they were unable to load the gelding on the float and as Kai Glow had injured itself, stewards withdrew the gelding at 11.15am. Tania Maddox was notified that she must produce a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to its next start.
