Stewards Panel:

Mr. Simon Carey (Chairman) & Ms. Alycia Brown

Other Comments / Explanations:

Race 1 BITTERN MARKET MAIDEN - 1050 metres:

Wheres Pendo Upon arrival at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination after being struck on the flanks by another runner before being passed fit to run. Commenced awkwardly and shifted in on jumping bumping Spirit Of Normandy.

Bel Witness Slow to begin.

Trappys Boy Slow to begin.

Spirit Of Normandy Commenced awkwardly before being bumped by Wheres Pendo which shifted in on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Touch Of Illusion Bounded on jumping. Passing the 300 metres had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between Moss And Me and Wheres Pendo which when weakening shifted out marginally. Approaching the 100 metres had to shift out away from the heels of Moss And Me which shifted out under pressure.

Moss and Me Approaching the 400 metres had to be steadied and shift out to avoid the heels of Wheres Pendo which had commenced to weaken. Lay out under pressure in the straight.

Rock Hard Star Upon arrival at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination at the request of rider M Corbisiero. Was subsequently a late scratching from the race at 1.35pm acting on veterinary advice after the gelding was found to be lame in the near fore. All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.

Rag Time Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide without cover throughout. Passing the 100 metres lay in across the heels of Kapsero.

Ten Times Over-raced in the early stages.

Race 3 CROWNBET TROPHY (3) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

The Tale Of Aver Commenced awkwardly.

I Like Ike Commenced awkwardly. Lay in under pressure in the straight.

Runs For Fun Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.

Heebites Performed below market expectations. Rider D Walker stated the gelding at no stage travelled throughout the event, and in her opinion did not appreciate racing inside other runners. A Post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Trainer Mr S Cooper stated that it was now his intention to spell the gelding.

Prince Of Oz Bounded on jumping.

Trevor Slow to begin.

Guilty As Charged Slow to begin before being permitted to stride forward to settle outside the leader passing the 1600 metres.

Lardner Lou Raced wide without cover from the 1400 metres.

Kondoa Slow to begin. Approaching the 200 metres had to be eased when attempting a neat run between Golden Tart and Derek The Viking both of which shifted ground marginally. Passing the 200 metres was accidentally struck over the nose by the whip of G Seccombe (Golden Tart) which was racing to its inside. Approaching the 150 metres rider M Keenan accidently dropped his whip.

Lucky Hotel Slipped on jumping before being slow into stride losing ground. Tactics queried. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted on the gelding in the early stages, rider D Walker stated that after being slow to begin she then urged her mount along to regain contact with the field, at which point it commenced to race keenly passing the 1400 metres. D Walker further added that rather than attempting to restrain the gelding which has had tendency to over-race, she then elected to allow her mount to stride forward around the field to obtain the lead passing the 1000 metres. Stewards noted her comments.

Smilys Shout Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.

Strength Of Steel Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. A Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have ruptured a near fore flexor tendon. Trainer Mrs T Taggart was notified that prior to racing again she would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness for the gelding. Mrs T Taggart stated that it is now her intention to retire Strength Of Steel.

Lochend Emmarose Over-raced in the early stages.
