Race 1 Heritage tavern maiden plate - 1200 metres:

Pongo Pygmas - Late scratching from the race at 1.05pm acting on veterinary advice after the gelding broke through the front of the barriers and galloped riderless for some distance before being recaptured. As such the start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes.

All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on the late scratching to be refunded.

All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

Master Moving Shifted in on jumping and bumped Kibu San. Raced wide without cover throughout. Lay out throughout.

Kibu San Commenced awkwardly and then bumped by Master Moving which shifted in. Passing the 800 metres when racing keenly has to be steadied to avoid the Golden Tart.

Copperhead Rose Made the crossing at the 1000 metres awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.

Giggling Lass Slow to begin.

Golden Tart Over-raced in the middle stages. Rider C Pace was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) for using her whip on consecutive strides.

Race 2 lisa delgleish trophy (3) handicap - 1200 metres:

Calmalist Commenced awkwardly. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until straightening.

Benall Passing the 200 metres had to be steadied to avoid the heels of I Was Stan (M Keenan) which shifted in when laying in. M Keenan was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR137(a) for shifting ground when not sufficiently clear.

I Was Stan Over-raced in the early stages. Passing the 200 metres shifted in when laying in.

Bellefontein Raced wide without cover. Rider C Pace reported that the mare hung out throughout. Shifted out when hanging out passing the 400 meters. Trainer Mr R Stephens was notified that a warning would now be placed on the mare for hanging. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have been galloped on its off hind leg.

Kharbouch Raced wide without cover til the 700 metres. Approaching the 600 metres when racing keenly had to be eased to avoid the heels of Bellefontein. Passing the 400 meters was steadied and became unbalanced to avoid the heels of Bellefontein which shifted out when hanging out away from the heels of Secretwina which shifted ground marginally. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer A Johnstone was notified that she would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the filly accepting to race again.

Race 3 the hastings club open trophy handicap - 1050 metres:

Ovahead Due to a printing error was inadvertently omitted from the on course race book. As such on course betting agencies and the public where notified via the oncourse broadcast of the misprint. Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Stood flat footed (5L). Trainer M Bell was notified that the mare was now suspended from racing until such time that it completes a trial to the satisfaction of stewards.

Distillery (NZ) Acting on a confirmed telephone conversation with trainer Mr R Huddart, stewards ordered the withdrawal of the gelding at 12.25pm after it had been injured when being loaded onto the float. Mr Huddart was notified that he would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding accepting to race again.

Brahms Prospector Stood flat footed (5L). Trainer A Keenan was notified that the mare was now suspended from racing until such time that it completes a trial to the satisfaction of stewards.

Little Queen Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

Chow Meow Approaching the winning post bumped with Russian Rick which lay out under pressure.

Russian Rick Lay out under pressure in the straight.

King Mapoora Raced wide without cover throughout.

Last One Laughing On pulling up harmlessly dislodged S Logan and as such galloped riderless for a short distance before being recaptured. S Logan was examined by the on course medical staff and passed fit to fulfil her remaining engagements.

Race 4 crownbet balnarring cup - 1600 metres:

Heres To A King Slow to begin.

Keep Happy Commenced awkwardly.

Shanghai Rooster Raced wide without cover throughout.

Kai Glow Tactics queried. When questioned in relation to the margin established over the field in the middle stages, rider D Walker stated that she had been instructed by connections to rider the gelding forward and ensure that the race was run at a strong tempo as this is when the gelding races its best races. D Walker further added that the gelding lay out rounding the home turn.

McNulty Performed below market expectations. Rider R Douglas stated that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the quick back up from its most recent run at Woolamai on the 21st of January. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Parvenu (NZ) Performed below market expectations. Rider T Lake stated that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages though when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

Race 5 rosebud garden supplies trophy (1) handicap - 1600 metres:

Silent Dance Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly.

Earn A Quid Slow to begin.

clair Raider Lay in under pressure in the straight.

Taqneen Held up for clear running and unable to improve rounding the home turn until near the 200 metres.

Sir Wolf Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Performed below market expectations. Rider D Waymouth stated that the gelding did not appreciate having clair Raider racing to its outside in the early stages and as such the gelding commenced to race keenly which was detrimental to its performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer R Waymouth was notified that she would be required to produce a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the gelding accepting to race again.

Race 6 the bittern market trophy (2) handicap - 1050 metres:

Classy Crissi Lay in under pressure rounding the home turn and straight.
