Rider Nathan Newton was fined the sum of $400 for wearing an unauthorised piece of equipment that being a camera attached to his helmet and failing to seek approval from the RV Integrity Department and the RV Risk Management department.

Race 1 BITTERN MARKET TROPHY (2) HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Royal Lady Slow to begin.

Apache Shadow- Near the 1200m rider M Keenan lost the use of his irons placing him at a disadvantage and as a result was unable to be ridden in its normal manner.

Race 2 MERIBEL MAIDEN PLATE - 1050 metres:

The race distance was amended to 1000m due to a concern with the crossing near the 1000m.

General Sullivan Slow to begin (3L). Raced three wide without cover throughout the event.

Kunzite In the straight layed in.

Lubricate Performed below market expectations. Rider R Douglas stated the gelding raced one paced throughout the event and would better suited of distances greater than todays 1000m.

Three Handles Rider S Logan was Severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR145 in that she weighed in, in excess of half a kilogram over her declared weight. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account her relative inexperience.

Race 3 THE SHINEBOMB TROPHY (1) HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Bred By Ted Shifted out on jumping away. Raced three wide without cover throughout the event.

Charitable Shifted in on jumping away and bumped Ace King.

Ace King Bumped on jumping away.

clair Raider Slow to begin. Performed below market expectations. Rider N Newton stated the gelding travelled well throughout the event however did not appreciate racing in restricted room amongst other runners.

Race 4 JAMES ROSCOE CLASSIC MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:

Earn A Quid Hasnt started since June 2015 was examined by the RV Veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

Sir Wolf Raced three wide without cover throughout the event.

Valleyofthedolls Performed below market expectations. Post race Veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. The mare shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward.

Race 5 CROWNBET OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1200 metres:

Keep Happy Over raced in the early stages.

Race 6 HERITAGE TAVERN OPEN TROPHY HANDICAP - 1600 metres:

Befitting Slow to begin.
