Race 1
What Logic, injured in the float enroute was examined on arrival on course. Acting on Veterinary advice, Stewards ordered the late withdraw at 12:45pm. The scratching left a field of eight to contest the 1008m Open Trophy Handicap. The winner was Ballydoyle, trained by Bob Triplow from Bairnsdale and ridden by Grant Seccombe. First time at the picnics, Ballymore defeated King Henry to the post by 1.5 lengths.

Race 2
Stan The Man trained by John Allen and ridden by Leigh Taylor won the 1008m Trophy (1) Handicap.  The gelding led all the way and went onto win by 4.5 lengths. The favourite, The Tale Of Aver, was never in the race, finishing 7.5 lengths behind the winner.

Race 3
The eagerly awaited contest between The Soprano and Keep Happy did not disappoint, with both horses starting equal favourite at $1.90. In a battle of tactics, the Waymouth Racing team of trainer Rebecca and jockey Debbie claimed victory, winning the 1708m Trophy (1) by 5.5 lengths. Keep Happy has kept the punters happy this season, with three wins and four seconds from his seven starts.

Race 4
Know This trained by Anthony Cosgriff and with Courtney Pace aboard, won the 1708m Trophy (3) Handicap, defeating Wright Opinion by just 0.2 of a length with Don’t Shoot third. The gelding carried the top weight of 70.5kg.

Race 5
The $26 outsider Chadra Boy trained by Rob Gillahan won the 1508m Open Trophy Handicap. Jockey Matthew Corbisiero held off the fast finishing Woodcutter Girl to win by 0.4 of a length.

Race 6
Carlsen trained by Glen Thornell broke its maiden status winning the 1508m Maiden Plate. The top weight, with Max Keenan aboard, battled on to beat the favourite Taqneen by the smallest of margins, 0.1 of a length. Cinderally hung out throughout the event, placing its rider at a disadvantage before being eased out of the race and taking no competitive part in the race. Post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
