Woolamai Report
In recent years Woolamai has not generally had much luck weather wise for their first meeting of the season but yesterday was a perfect entree to the season and produced a perfect day for picnic racing. There was a big crowd in attendance and some great picnic racing witnessed. The club was also the recipient of some funding from the Government or should I say losing punters and received a contribution to a new trackside fence along the length the straight. This contribution came from the money the TAB pays into consolidated revenue for unclaimed betting tickets, good to see it is at least going back into racing !

There was a good spread of riding honours this week with a different jockey winning each race on the card. A welcome back to the winners circle for Danielle Daniel who came second in the jockey premiership two seasons ago confirming her skill and talent. She had her hands full trying to settle the short priced favourite Unique Ruler before setting it alight earlier than she would have liked but still proving too strong in the run home to defeat Out of Dubai and Tassie Ruler.

King Can Sing wins the Open Trophy.

King Can Sing continued its current good form winning again easily after trouncing them recently at Yea. The 5yo gelding by King of Roses seems to have come back better than ever from a spell and has now won three Woolamai.

Photographer Brad Best caught a timely shot as Stephanie Dorning crossed the line and her whip left her hand. Good action shooting Brad !

You can also catch the audio of all the races compliments of Gino Deluca posting to Sound Cloud. Gino has provided these immediately after the running of the race for those that are not able to get to the track. Visit Soundcloud.

Next week we head back to Balnarring for their Xmas meeting which is always well attended. Early weather prediction is a mainly sunny 19 deg. Casey Radio will be back again so you can tune into the racing and reviews on www.caseyradio.com.au or 97.7FM.
