Woolamai Cup Report
A large crowd was in attendance for the 2012 Woolamai Cup and despite the ordinary weather prediction the day held up extra well apart from just before the Cup was run when the start was conducted under a heavy passing shower. The Cup was taken out by Sir Brief ridden by Caitlin Jones and trained by Bob Post who had made the trip over from Mt. Gambier.

On a day when Black Cavier made records at Caulfield, picnic racing had its own picnic winning streak created with Whenwegoineast who made it 5 in a row since coming to the picnics and changing trainer to Adam Bodey. The connections of the horse are also having a field day with the bookmakers as it has been heavily backed on all occassions.

Other highlights of the day were riding doubles to apprentice Corey Jones and Adam Bodey. Corey needs only one more winner before he outrides his apprentice claim. There was also a training tribute to Kellie Hill who produced Spirit Eyes to win first up after a long 975 day layoff.
