Woolamai Report

It has been a big week of picnic racing with meetings at Merton, Pakenham, Alexandra, Dederang and Woolamai. It is always a tough time to get capacity fields at this time of year and it is unfortunate to be getting fields of three or even two as was the case at a couple of the meetings. Today's meeting at Woolamai was a successful event and although there was lots of rain in the morning the day fined up and was perfect for picnic racing. Young apprentice Clayton Douglas continued on his winning run with a double today and is now only one win away from losing his 2kg claim.

Heat 3 of the Brian Bren VBA/CRV Picnic Racing Sprinters Series went to Marechal's Honour ridden by Harry Bacon and trained by Craig Kavanagh. Marechal's Honour held out the strong finishing Primo Lago who came home on the fence to do down by a short half head.
