Woolamai Report

The Xmas holiday period along with perfect picnic racing weather brought a large crowd out to enjoy the racing at Woolamai. There was some great racing with some very tight finishes and young race caller Edward Sadler did an excellent job in separating them on the line without the aid of the photo finish. Congratulations also go to the Committee of the Woolamai Picnic Racing club and its group of volunteers. The smooth running of this race meeting is a testament to their hard work. In a fortnight the Club will be conducting their Cup meeting which is always a large event. If you are looking to attend the day in style see the Woolamai Cup Marquee Special above which I can recommend.

In what was a day of highlights, new apprentice rider Stephanie Dorning won her first race aboard the Dianne Clover trainer King Can Sing. Congratulations Stephanie ! Another apprentice Clayton Douglas outrode his claim after winning on the Paul Kramer trained Bellman True. Even without the claim one would expect to see Clayton continue on his winning way given the skill he has shown to date.

There was also a double to Matthew Corbisiero and Courtney Pace returned back to the picnics after a stint in the professionals and bounced back in her first ride winning aboard the Robert Carmichael trained Just Jordie. A great reward for the Carmichaels with the other half of the operation being Bev who is the hard working Secretary of the Woolamai club.
