Woolamai News
Another great day weather wise for Woolamai and a large crowd turned out for what was their
second last meeting for the season. With a couple of big priced winners in the first two races
punters were clearly on the back foot before managing to get the next two favourites home.

The girls once again dominated the male jockeys winning six of the seven races with a quadrella of winners to the leading female rider Danielle Daniel. Daniel is absolutely on fire at the moment and really does seem to be able to get her mounts to excel under her cool riding style.

We also saw apprentice jockey Matthew Corbisiero outride his claim after landing his 10th winner which makes him ineligible to claim any longer at the picnics.

Yea St. Pat's Cup
Another great day of picnic racing was organised by the Yea St. Pat's Racing Club and
sponsored by the Skilled Group. This is a very professionally run meeting and each year
a large contingent of visitors attend the corporate marquees to enjoy the day.
Although the Cup had a disappointingly small field it was a competitive race with Forge, once again ridden by in form jockey Danielle Daniel taking out the event at the good odds of $4-20.

Another highlight of the day was Rhonda Mangan's return to picnic race riding after an absence of 13 years. Rhonda was one of the leading female jockeys between 1995 to 1998. Riding 44 winners from 278 rides Rhonda had an impressive strike rate of 16% which compares well with the current leading riders.
