Report for Alexandra 29th March 2008
It was an exciting end to the 2007-2008 Picnic Racing when it came down to the final race of the day to determine the jockeys premiership. Kane Harris needed to win the race and therefore would have won on a countback for 2nd placings throughout the season. However, it was not to be as his mount went down by a head after a vigorous ride all the way up the straight to provide Adam Bodey with the title. Congratulations to both jockeys who streeted the oppostion winning 45% of the season races between them.

Adam Bodey wins on Scarface Claw at $1-70 Fav to win this years jockey premiership.
Race 1 went to Schumpeter at $3-20 who led them up, was headed to the turn but fought back strongly in the straight to outstay the $1-70 Fav. Cazza's Lottery.
The lightly raced 3yo Call You Back won the second and for a short while looked in trouble as he approached the turn but under hard riding from Adam Bodey the gelding responded well to win from Sly Jester.
Coolibah Kid at $7-00 who has a habit of missing the start decided to jump away today and it made all the difference. Staying in touch with the others and sitting just behind the pacemakers it was able to come home strongly in the straight to win easily for the ever improving jockey John Fitzgerald.
Race 4 went to Kane Harris on board the improver Carlton Game at $4-40. It was a tactic of catch me if you can by Kane who had the horse in the lead coming to the turn where he skipped away from them to hold out Runaway Lover. The win put the two leading jockeys together again on 46 winners each.
Scarface Claw
who was a very strong winner last week at Balnarring went on with the job to win Race 5 at $1-70 favourite and make it two in a row.
