$30,000 PICNIC RACING SERIES 2007 /2008 SEASON READ THE CONDITIONS

Note: The Yea meeting scheduled for December 1st 2007 has been abandoned.

Woolamai 24th November 2007 - With near capacity fields in all races the first meeting for the season at Woolmai provided a great days racing. The weather was perfect and a large crowd turned out to enjoy the day.
Riding honours went to Ms Jessica Moroni who not only broke her race riding duck but rode a double. With the advantage of a 4kg claim Keysie Girl and Purge both ran out strong winners in their respective races. Clearly the trainers will be wanting to take advantage of Jessica's riding ability combined with a good weight claim as I expect it will not be long before she outrides it. See video below of the second of her double where in a large field Jessica urged Purge along to race away from the opposition for a good win.

Next meeting Balnarring Saturday 8th December 2007 - Unfortunately, for so early in the season Picnic Racing gets a rest this week with the abandonment of the Yea meeting scheduled for December the 1st. I understand it was abandoned due to the difficulty for the Club to implement the required controls for Equine Influenza. This meeting was to conduct the first leg of the $15,000 Picnic Racing Sprinters Series which according to Racing Victoria Operations will now reduce to only four instead of the orginally planned five heats.
The next meeting is Balnarring on Saturday 8th December 2007 and should attract a large number of groups celebrating their XMAS breakups.
